I run Brighton’s only (as far as I know) alternative music, musical comedy, AND comedy night. It takes place approximately four times a year at The Folklore Rooms above The Quadrant pub, and often (but not always) I perform at it with my band The Highchurches.
Our next show is on 5th March 2025 and is headlined by Professor Elemental.
I keep the night sporadic to keep it special, and it’s an opportunity (I hope!) for music fans to see some comedy, and vice versa. It’s also just a really lovely thing at a lovely venue.
Previous guests have included MJ Hibbett with Chris Thorpe-Tracey, Jo Burke, Jason Pegg, The Coal Porters, Laurie Black, The Roebucks, Queen Mab, and Message From The Ravens (music); Blank Peng, Sharlin Jahan, Mikey Bligh-Smith, Rob Duncan, Jen Zheng, Lachlan Werner and Charlie Vero-Martin (comedy), and Shelf, Selena Mersey, JoJo Maberley, and Jamie Mykaela (music and comedy).
Our host is often the Leslie Bloom, but has also been hosted by Paggy, Laurie Black, and myself.
