I’m taking part in a 24 hour hunger strike on Sunday, in solidarity with Prisoners for Palestine and in collaboration with Hunger for Justice. This is part of a rolling collective hunger strike. I’ll be outside the Supreme Court in London from midday this coming Sunday 11th January.
You can read the hunger strikers’ demands in full here, but in short:
Shut Elbit Systems UK down
End All censorship
Immediate bail
The right to a fair trial
Deproscribe Palestine Action
I don’t usually post publicly about political activism, for fairly obvious reasons, but this is extremely important. I’m terrified one of the remaining hunger strikers will die (they’re well into the danger zone), and I’m flabbergasted by the media silence on this issue, with a few honourable exceptions (like George Monbiot in the Guardian).
I know I have friends out there who read this blog. I’d ask you to, a) share the word about the strikers and their demands, and b) come join me in solidarity if you’re free on Sunday. You don’t have to join the hunger strike – though you’re very welcome to, all the info is here – but seeing your lovely faces would mean a lot. Just please eat any burritos you might have before you arrive at the protest location.
I don’t exactly have a face for the algorithm, but you can also share my social media post below if you’re able and willing to do so.
