It’s been 25 years since 69 Love Songs came out. From weddings to eternal indie discos, the finest and certainly most absurd Magnetic Fields album became a huge part of my life.

The first song I ever learned to play was off that album, Come Back From San Francisco has three chords and lots of love, which is more than most of us manage.

I heard the band were requesting covers of songs from the album, and was honoured when they shared my own attempt on their own instagram feed, which I hear is the Internet Relay Chat of its day.
