We are five!
It was a splendid evening at Hoopla, our first Thursday show and a sold out room to boot.
We prepped a greatest hits set – pimped up with Josephine’s wonderfully bizarre sketch about being a sofa in a nightclub toilet, alongside Ben’s pleasing anti-Dyson rant. And I rebooked some of our favourite ever guest acts – Luke Rollason, Julia Masli, and Jamie Mykaela, who deserves stadiums or at least a sold out run at the Brixton Academy.
I hosted, and talked about the good sense in starting a comedy night in January 2020 and how I narrowly lost out hosting Gladiators to Bradley Walsh’s twink son Barney.
Should probably have done something on our having the same surname, come to think of it.
I was going to write many more paragraphs about our birthday, but my co-producer Paul has in fact beaten me to it, and written far more movingly and eloquently than I could ever have.
It’s really nice to know that there are people out there other than me who have enjoyed and gained plenty from this crazy ol’ show.
And it also pleases me, strangely, to see him write about us at Medium, where I wrote up the very first show half a decade ago.
Medium is somehow still going, and so are we!!!
Our next show is February 19th back at Hoopla Impro – come along?
