The first This Machine Kills Wasps of 2026 stretched dangerously closely to being the platonic TMKW ideal. The comedy was varied, bonkers and anarchic; the music took in indie, folk, analogue electro-pop, and gloriously silly and entertaining chap-hop from our headliner, Professor Elemental, who afterwards expressed an interest in hosting a future show.

As I wrote over on the ol’ Substack, I’m now gonna put Wasps on a Beaver & Steve style hiatus until the autumn. Rest assured, when we returned, we will reach even more determinedly for the double-edged apple of the perfect show.
